Tautphaus Park and Tautphaus Park Zoo
Saturday, April 26, 2008
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Plan now to attend the annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 26 at the Tautphaus Park Zoo and Hockey Shelter. Enjoy a day of live music, conservation education, games, crafts and displays by local clubs and organizations. Zoo admission will be free for children 12 and under, with a paying adult and one of the recyclable items listed at right.

Raffle Prizes - Prizes will be given away at the Hockey Shelter. 
 

SKATEBOARD COMPETITION

  A skateboard competition will be hosted by Five-0 Skate Shop at the Tautphaus Park Skate Park. 
▪ Registration - 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
▪ Competition - 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
▪ Prizes - 3:30 pm
  The skate competition will be divided into three groups, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced and then we will have a best trick award as well.
  Helmets are required and a parent permission slip will need to be signed if the competitor is under the age of 18.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

A shuttle service will be provided by Salt Lake Express with stops at the Zoo Elk Pasture on Softball Drive, the Bonneville County Fairgrounds, the parking lot north of Funland, Albertsons (17th and Holmes), Community Park, Art Museum, and Farmers Market. Ride the shuttle, save gas, and eliminate parking woes!  First 100 riders get free zoo tickets!       Download route map

BIKE RODEO

A Bike Rodeo will be held at the playground east of Funland.  Bring your bikeand helmet.  Bike helmets are being raffled and participants are eligible only after completing  the course. More Info

Astronomy Club Star Gazing Party

The Idaho Falls Astronomical Society (www.ifastro.org ) will have telescopes with special filters to allow solar observing during the day at the Earth Day Celebration. If weather and light pollution allow, a Star Party will be held in the evening to observe the moon, Mars and Saturn. Time TBD.
