What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Household hazardous waste (HHW) can be found in most homes. Many items you normally use
around the house such as paints, cleaners, motor oil and pesticides could
pose a serious threat to your family's health and/or the environment. To
know whether a product you are using is hazardous, read the label. If you
see words like "danger," "warning," "caution," or "poison," these
materials are hazardous and can not go into the trash or washed down storm
drains or your household drains.
