Medication Disposal Drop

CWI is partnering with the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office to provide a prescription and over-the-counter medication disposal drop at the Idaho Falls Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 23 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This ONE DAY event provides a safe and secure disposal system for old and unused medications.  The benefits of this program are to:

  • Provide secure collection points for unused medications that people typically flush down the toilet.  This keeps the medication from entering the water supply.

  • Prevent medications from getting into the hands of young people who may experiment with the drugs.

  • Keep drugs out of the hands of drug abusers and drug dealers.

People wishing to dispose of their old and unused medications can simply drop them off anonymously in the designated collection box at the CWI Booth at Earth Day.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office will be responsible for emptying the collection boxes and the final disposition of all the collected medications.

Liquid containers need to be in a sealed plastic bag and no syringes, please.
